The pack was closing in on the roebuck, their bright white teeth flashing in a full circle around it. The roebuck's eyes showed nearly the same color, it's eyelids unnaturally revealing the whites of it's eyes. It's tail and legs were both stiff and shaking, and it searched the circle of wolves around it for any possible opening. Frantic, though, it dashed at one wolf, trying to jump over it or at least kick it, but the wolf was too fast and lashed out at the buck's front leg, letting out a sharp bark. The buck toppled to the ground, only to clumsily get back up, and hobble backwards, towards another wolf's peeled back lips. The wolf's hind legs twitched in anticipation, but a noise came through the woods north of the wolves. They looked towards it, managing to leave an opening for the buck to escape from. It leaped over a wolf's head, red blood dripping from it's wounded flank, and it dashed with as much speed as it could muster through the free woods ahead of it. The wolves set off after it rapidly, and caught up to it just as it had crumpled over, exhausted from shock and trauma. They all made a jump for it, and several seconds later the deer was an unconscious carcass, mangled and torn and bleeding out onto the bright white snow.
Now there was a noise again, and the alpha male stepped towards it, making his subordinates also. He broke into a trot after the noise, with several of the stronger males following after him, and the weaker and female ones staying behind to guard the kill. The noise got stronger, though the piercing wind was whistling past the pack on their new mission. The dark and moist trees flew past them as the noise changed, turning into a higher pitched and more rapidly fluctuating voice, and the wolves caught the scent of fresh blood in the cold air. They sank lower to the ground, aware that there could either be a wounded animal or a killed animal with a dangerous predator near it. They slunk through the snow, and the noise grew quiet, hushed, though seeping with joy. And then the wolves could feel it, their senses picking up on the smell, the sounds and the emotion, it was a human, and it was frightened. How delightful.
He he. Sorta good I guess... It's pretty dark and terrifying. But I wrote it. For school. And here it is. My teacher loved it. And I was all being modest and stuff.
